Big meets small…with Italys penchant for deep ploughing, large ploughs such as this two-furrow version from Predappio-based CMA are reasonably commonplace. Depths of up to 500mm (20in) are possible and a minimum of 120hp is required, says the company. Compare it then, with the mini-single furrow reversible plough on the right which is towed behind a walking tractor. Power requirement is 12hp and working depth is a maximum of 140mm (5.5in).
