Kate Malone has drawn inspiration from the vegetable patch for the ceramics in her exhibition The Allotment at Gainsborough House Museum, Sudbury, Suffolk (May 15-June 27).

Her work is witty, colourful and unashamedly decorative and described as highly influential in the field of contemporary ceramics. From prize pieces such as the pumpkin teapot (above) to rows of individual pea pods, the exuberant forms are finished in richly coloured crystalline glazes. The artist will be at the museum to give a talk about The Allotment on June 3 at 7.30pm.
