Longhorn road to recovery… 30 Longhorns are being used to improve an area of Derbys wetland. They helped producer Peter Hogbin win an SSSI award from English Nature for preserving Mugginton Bottoms, near Ashbourne. Longhorns are ideally suited to grazing tough, tussocky grass which many modern breeds would leave. This has helped reclaim the land, and boost wild flower populations.
