At least Kiwi farms are on the up-and-up

Will farming ever become the confident, prosperous industry it once was? Anywhere? Whether it is the UK foot-and-mouth crisis or low farm prices and lack of new entrants in North America, the depression seems to be global.

So its good to hear of a country where farming is on the up. In New Zealand the low value of its currency and strengthening prices are making NZ farmers distinctly confident. Inevitably some sectors are doing better than others; its dairy and sheep sectors are the stars.

In fact, farmers are rushing to get into milk production and the countrys production has risen 10% this year. Now wouldnt that be good to see here?
