Agricultural students have never been slow in making their way to the nearest pub. But now its official – going to the pub is what students like doing best. The latest nationwide Student Living Report by accommodation provider UNITE shows pub-going is the preferred social pursuit of 52% of students.
Each one typically spends £20/week on alcohol. The report also shows one in four students admitting to financial problems and 43% having a part-time job during term-time. Student debt and juggling academic work with other commitments are seen as the worst aspect of university life – but 90% consider that the money they are spending on education is a good "investment".
