Colleges now offer commercial advice

For many farmers of a certain age agricultural college is a pleasant, if distant, memory.

But now more farmers are finding themselves involved with their local college. Not because theyve developed a sudden thirst for formal education, but because colleges are now firmly in the business of dispensing advice and training.

Its all part of an important new trend whereby your local college may well be running training courses on anything from sharing machinery with a neighbour, to turning barns into offices. The advice and training is practical, often free and is becoming increasingly important as a way of obtaining information that is hard to find elsewhere.
