Ashclyst dispersal reaches 1050gns

A SECOND calver made 1050gns when M T Salter dispersed his herd of Holstein Friesians at Ashclyst, Devon.

Quality Topper Duke went home from this sale of non-recorded and non-pedigree animals with Mr Shilston, Totnes.

Moet Kari Beehive progeny were in demand. A third calver realised 980gns to A Parkhouse, Crediton, who took another by the same sire at 900gns and a Wraxcourt Bounty November calver at 960gns.

In-calvers for February reached 920gns and heifer calves, sold after their dams, made 220gns.

Served heifers by Hendomen Primate, due in March, went to 850gns and bullers peaked at 530gns. The sale also included a flock of Dorset Horn and Poll Dorset sheep which saw two- to six-tooth ewes with twins sell to £132, in-lamb ewes to £80, Poll Dorset ewe lambs to £88 and Dorset Horn ewe lambs to £80.
