Astronaut succeeds with space vegetables


Space farming has won a breakthrough after astronaut Michael Foale successfully grew vegetables on the spacecraft Mir. He planted a dwarf variety of Brassica rapa, Chinese cabbage and oilseed rape. They grew almost as fast in space as on Earth.
