Aussies threaten fightback against Japan
AUSTRALIA is threatening to take retaliatory action against Japans decision to impose a 390% tariff on rice imports.
Japan said last week it would impose a tariff of up to ¥351/kg (£1.80/kg) on all rice imports above its agreed minimum market access levels for foreign rice, from next April.
It says it has taken the action to curb imports and help Japanese farmers.
Australia said it might take action against Japans four-wheel drive vehicles.
