Australian farming exports languish


AUSTRALIAS commodity exports are expected a hit a record high in 1999/2000, but its agricultural exports will be static, according to the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE).

ABARE blamed rising supply for its forecast that agricultural commodity prices will be lower, except for wool, beef and pork.

Grains, oilseeds, sugar, cotton, dairy products and wine grapes are all expected to be lower in 1999/2000.
