Backing bacon – if its British

TAKING advantage of the continuing problems that swine fever is causing the Dutch pig industry, the Meat and Livestock Commission is set to launch a campaign to get British retailers to switch to home-produced bacon.

Starting later this month, and running until November, the MLC campaign aims to persuade caterers, a market traditionally dominated by imports, to buy more British bacon, and encourage butchers and retailers to stock and promote Charter Quality British Bacon. &#42
