Badger cull attracts protestors
UP to 300 demonstrators gathered in the Peak District on Sunday (06 August) to protest against the government badger cull, reports The Independent.
The protestors — some dressed as badgers — want more humane solutions to the problem.
The Peak District trial is one of a number of culls being conducted to establish if there is a link between tuberculosis in cattle and badgers.
Last month the government announced it will spend an extra 4m in a bid to control cases of bovine TB which have climbed by 15-20% in the past year.
