FARMERS who disturb badger setts, without government authorisation, face fines of several thousand pounds, warn Hertfordshire Police.

"Two Herts farmers are being prosecuted and others have been cautioned after working on or near badger setts without a Ministry of Agriculture licence," said Inspector Steve Kourik.n
