‘Beef exports delayed again’

ANTI-BSE measures demanded by the European Union could further delay the lifting of the ban on the export of beef.

According to The Guardian, the first real exports of beef in three years are unlikely to leave the country before early summer.

The all-clear is dependent on inspection inspectors from Brussels who have not been invited yet to visit British processing plants.

The government also has to prove that cattle born after 1996 whose mothers subsequently developed BSE have been culled.
