Blackgrass sure to shrivel soon

DONT despair if Lexus Class (flupyrsulfuron + carfentrazone) appears not to have killed blackgrass, advises DuPont herbicide manager Martyn Rogers.

"Where it was used early, in warm conditions, it worked very well. Where it went on later, in cooler conditions, there are one or two cases where growers are asking whether the weeds are going to die," he admits.

"The message is dont think about overspraying yet. Trials over recent seasons show the blackgrass plants die eventually, or become Bonsaid – shrivelled and uncompetitive. Yield reduction is not a worry and seed return is very unlikely." &#42
