Blonde dispersal

A BLONDE dAquitaine cow sold for 2500gns when Mr and Mrs Tom Turner dispersed their Kirton herd at Crediton, Devon.

Kirton Ida, a five-year-old by Van with an April-born heifer calf, was bought by C J Squire, Okehampton.

With several northern breeders in contention for stock there was a keen edge to the trade with maiden heifers selling to 1000gns for a Drop daughter taken by Messrs Harris, Salisbury.

Averages: 45 cows and calves £1147; three in-calf cows £787; 20 maiden heifers £589; four in-calf heifers £677 and five bulls £1118. (Stags)
