Booker jobs go — poultry arm next?
BOOKER is cutting more than 600 jobs following the closure of its Northampton, Hatfield, Haydock and Bristol operations.
The job cuts and closures occur as the company continues to make efforts to find buyers for its fish-farming and poultry divisions.
The job cuts arise from the sale by Booker of the goodwill and some assets of Booker Wholesale Foods to Palmer & Harvey McLane, a privately owned distribution company, for £4.4 million.
