Booker sheds 200 at division head office


TROUBLED food business Booker is cutting 200 managers at the head office of its cash and carry division.

The cuts mean a reduction of about 15% in the headcount at the Booker Belmont Wholesales headquarters at Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Bookers food service and wholesale food businesses are currently up for sale.

The company is continuing refinancing talks with its banks.
