Borneo OSR does well in the south
NEW hybrid winter oilseed rape variety Borneo from breeder NK has matched new conventional front-runner Winner in the south, according to NIAB Association regional data.
In the east it fell just short of top yielder Royal.
"Borneo has certainly performed extremely well in the south and east," says NIABs Simon Kightley. "It didnt make it on to the Recommended List last November, but it is in the ground again this year and we will have a chance to explore its yield potential further in what I see as a much more favourable growing season than its first two years."
Seed is being produced in the UK for this autumn and will be available through J&V Dalton and United Oilseeds. *
