BSE Inquiry cost £10m — so far

THE BSE Inquiry has cost at least £10 million, junior agriculture minister Jeff Rooker said last night.

The inquiry has also required a large number of staff, the current total being 85, he disclosed in Commons written reply.

The figure of £10 million excludes costs to his department or the cost of legal support for departmental witnesses, Mr Rooker added.
