Buck orf with a scratch solution

QUICKER and easier vaccination against orf is promised by the VaxOrf applicator from Willows Francis Veterinary.

The applicator, with a specially designed tip which scratches the skin, applies the vaccine at a stroke, avoiding bleeding. It is easier and safer to use than the traditional two-pronged applicator, says the company.

Used with VaxOrf, the scratch should be 2.5cm-5cm (1in-2in) long, breaking the surface of the skin. One pack will treat at least 50 sheep, and costs about £16 including the vaccine and Scratchit applicator. (01293 614141)
