Buffer answer to wet and acid silage

IS YOUR silage wet and acidic? Then SCA nutrition could have the answer with its rumen buffer, SCA Equaliser.

This blend of mineral salts and yeast is said to help stabilise rumen pH fluctuations associated with feeding wet silage and cereals. It also improves the viability of rumen bugs, encouraging fibre breakdown and protein production which, in turn, stimulates feed intake, according to the company.

SCA advises feeding the buffer at 100-150g/head a day which works out at 3.1p/cow a day (01845-578125, fax 01845-578100).
