Cabinet secretly supports GM crops
A SECRET report prepared for the Cabinet claims that genetically modified crops could help feed the world, according to the Daily Mail.
The report has turned Labour policy on GM food on its head by claiming that the technology could win the war against hunger in the Third World, it says.
The paper claims that the report delivers a glowing account of how GM crops would help millions who live under the shadow of famine.
Campaigners against GM technology have accused Ministers of saying one thing in public but taking a different line in private, the Mail reports.
