Caron Texels hit 800gns call

A PRODUCTION sale from the prize-winning Caron flock of Texel sheep from Welsh breeder TG Williams and Son, drew a top call of 800gns.

Topping the trade was the two-year-old stock ram Caron Grand Prix, who went to local breeder Elfet Brown from Poppit, St Dogmaels.

Top ram lamb was Caron Hancock at 700gns. He joins five females on offer that will head north to Canonbie in Dumfrieshire to re-establish a flock for Mssrs Carruthers. Joining Hancock was the top-priced yearling ewe at 620gns.

Commercial flockmasters paid an overall average of 325gns for rams and 255gns for ewes (Bob Jones Prytherch & Co). &#42
