Cautious bull trade

A CAUTIOUS demand was seen at the British Charolais Cattle Societys late autumn bull sale at Carlisle, with only 22 transactions taking place.

Esmor Evans finished on top with a 2950gns bid for his Maerdy Mule, a Maerdy Forum bull out of a Nibheath Unique dam that stood champion under judge Murray Lyle. Buyer was T W Redbanks, Penrith.

The leading Yorkshire-based herd of Billy Turner, Ripon, generated a 2400gns sale to R &#42 Oliver, Newcastle-upon-Tyne for the Brampton Ace son Brampton Messiah.
