TO DEAL with ever increasing loads on chain drive transmissions, spares firm Spaldings has introduced a heavy-duty chain.

In 0.75 and 1.0in pitches, the chain uses thicker link plates and heat treated link pins, says Spaldings, which are able to withstand greater loadings.

The chain can also be split without the need for special equipment, and is supplied in 3m (10ft) boxed lengths. A range of joiners and half links are available to match. Price of the chain is £95. (01522-500600).
