Charles dismay at RSPCA donation
By FWI staff
PRINCE Charles is make a private protest to the RSPCA after it gave only 2,000 to help farmers affected by foot-and-mouth, reports The Times.
The Prince gave 500,000 to a hardship fund to help farmers and urged businessmen and charities to follow suit.
But he was reported to be disappointed when the animal welfare charity, with liquid assets of more than 100m, gave only 2,000 to the ARC-Addington Fund.
Shortly afterwards an RSPCA advertisement, believed to have cost 20,000, appeared in national newspapers calling for a change in farming practices.
The Addington Fund has raised more than 6m since the Princes donation, providing silage and fodder to farmers affected by disease restriction movements.
