Chavtrac takes measured step to quit sprayers
By Andy Collings
CHAVTRAC, which claims to have been the producer of the original low ground pressure vehicle for spraying operations, has withdrawn from the sprayer industry.
According to the companys Richard Price, the prevailing economic conditions within the agricultural industry means his efforts must now go down other avenues.
"This is a measured decision which has been carefully reached after months of preparation," says Mr Price.
Chavtrac has also relinquished its US-built Spra-Coup sprayer interest – this AGCO subsidiary will now be marketed by another AGCO owned operation, Ag-Chem Europe.
Servicing and spares for the 700 Chaviot and Chavtrac machines still running will continue, says Mr Price, as will support for dealer sourced spares. *
