Chile quashes vine pest rumours


The Chilean agriculture ministry said the countrys vines were free of
Phylloxera. It issued the statement to quash rumours that the potentially
disastrous pest outbreak had occurred in its rapidly growing wine industry. The
pest attacks vines at their roots and prefers the best quality plants.
