Cleanliness rules boost crush sales

INCREASING importance on ensuring cattle are clean when they go to slaughter has led to a renewed interest in cattle crushes.

Latest contender for this market is Nugent Engineering which is now offering the Universal 2020 cattle crush range – a range which incorporates a side locking manual gate.

This, says Nugent, makes the crush suitable for the gentle restraint of dairy cattle and effective restraint of difficult, long-horned cattle.

Options include a hoof trimming attachment, ratchet rump bar, digital weigh systems and aluminium tread floor.
