Co-op sales pass £8bn, but profits slump

NATIONAL Co-op reaffirmed its position as one of the UKs largest retailers, with annual sales exceeding £8 billion for the first time.

The Co-ops sales rose about 3% to £8.2bn last year, up from £7.9bn previously.
