Compensation set on green £ losses

AGRIMONETARY managers in Brussels have set the maximum compensation available to UK farmers for income losses from the last two green £ revaluations at £99m and £112m respectively.

This takes the total cash available for this years four appreciable revaluations to £930m.

But the official word from MAFF is that farm minister Jack Cunningham is still "not minded to" request the money, though he is keeping his options open and has asked for more information from the NFU on the need for it.n
