Cattle worth up to £30,000 stolen near Omagh

Police are investigating the theft of livestock worth up to £30,000 from farmland near Omagh, County Tyrone.

A number of bullocks were reported stolen from the Camlough Road area of Sixmilecross, with the theft believed to have occurred sometime between 25 and 29 August.

Sgt Morton, of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, confirmed: “Sometime between Monday 25 August and Friday 29 August, a number of bullocks, including Angus, Friesian and Charolais breeds, and estimated to be worth approximately £20,000-£30,000, were reported to have been stolen from a property.”

Police believe the theft required considerable planning and resources.

“We believe that it would have taken time and potentially a large vehicle or vehicles to transport the animals,” Sgt Morton added.

An investigation is currently under way.

Officers are appealing to the public for help, particularly those who may have seen suspicious activity in the area during the timeframe.

“We are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed any suspicious activity or have any information on the whereabouts of the bullocks, to get in touch,” said Sgt Morton.

Anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or other relevant footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 357 of 29/08/25.
