Farm woman attacked by driver
A FARM WORKER is recovering after a road rage incident in which she was dragged from her tractor and repeatedly kicked while she was on the ground.
Jayne Cooper, of Copmanthorpe, near York, sustained two cracked ribs and a bleeding nose in the incident when a man set upon her on the Melbourne to Everingham road.
“I feared for my life,” she said. “I thought that was it – I didn‘t think I‘d still be here to tell the tale.”
Her ordeal began when the man, who was driving a black Renault Clio, overtook her tractor and stopped in the middle of the road to block her path.
“He got out and started calling me every name under the sun,” said Jayne, who was on her way to collect a load of carrots for the farm where she works in Crockey Hill.
“Then he pulled me out of my cab by my T-shirt and I fell on to the road – and he stuck it to me good and proper.”
Humberside police are looking for a man, described as white, 25 to 30 years old, of medium build, 5ft 9in tall, and clean-shaven.
He was wearing blue jeans and a light-coloured Quicksilver baseball cap. It is believed his car‘s registration number begins with S122.
A Police spokesman said: “This was a particularly vicious attack and it is absolutely vital that we find this man.”
