Welsh police investigate crossbow attacks on sheep

Police are investigating what is believed to be crossbow attacks on several sheep at a mid-Wales farm.
The gruesome discovery of two dead ewes was made by Roger Davies, who farms at Traws Nant near Llanwrtyd Wells.
One of the ewes had been hit in the stomach by a crossbow bolt and the other struck in the head.
Mr Davies later discovered a further three dead ewes on the farm and believes these were also targeted.
He said two men wearing camouflage clothing and armed with a crossbow were seen in a nearby Forestry Commission picnic site two days before the first of the ewes were found on 10 September.
Dyfed-Powys Police have been informed. Inspector Andy Reed urged anyone with information to get in touch.
“Appropriate advice has been given and I would ask anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area they think we should know about to please contact us on 101,” he said.
