Debut for Imp triple-fold-boom sprayer
Debut for Imp triple-fold-boom sprayer
SELF-PROPELLED sprayer maker Lincs-based Househam has launched its Imp 2001 machine.
Equipped with a 3300-litre tank with an externally mounted 300-litre wash tank, one of the sprayers main features is new 24/32m boom.
Househam points out that the booms triple folding action means that it can be transported at a height of less than four metres. This is now a requirement of the Health and Safety Executive in a bid to reduce the risk of spray booms contacting overhead power lines.
As with other Househam machines, the Imp 2001 is a hydrostatically driven sprayer with either two- or four-wheel drive. A re-design of the sprayer de-mount unit and control system is claimed to result in a number of benefits. A new plumbing system is designed to reduce the amount of water held in the pipework by 60% when compared with earlier models.
This reduction also means that, when starting spraying, the correct rate is applied more quickly and the response to on-the-move rate changes more precise.
Still with the pipework, the new sprayer is equipped with the manufacturers pressurised re-circulation system which keeps the contents of the pipelines in constant motion to reduce sediment build-up.
Househam has also incorporated a single switch sprayer control system which, with its three-position action, replaces the combination of taps used previously.
Price of the Imp 2001 has yet to be announced. *
Househams Imp 2001 self-propelled sprayer makes its debut appearance. Note the new 24/32m boom which folds horizontally and complies with the HSEs 4m-height rule.
