Deere extends its spare parts capabilities

By Andy Collings

DEERE & Co has acquired Exeter-based Vapormatic – the distributor of replacement parts for agricultural equipment. This, says Deere, will extend its capability to meet parts and service needs for all brands of farm equipment.

The deal will also allow Deere to further its stake in a market the company entered last year when it became a minority owner in A&I Products – a North American manufacturer and distributor of replacement parts for all makes of agricultural machinery. And, in a related transaction, A&I Products has purchased Riverside Tractor Parts of Memphis, Tennessee.

Deere reports that Vapormatic, A&I Products and Riverside will continue to market their products through existing channels but will also sell all makes of replacement parts to John Deere dealers.
