Demo man charged

AN Anglesey farmer has appeared at Holyhead Magistrates Court to face a charge relating to Decembers protest when Irish beefburgers were taken from a lorry at the towns port and dumped in the sea.

David Richard Jones, Flat 1, Old Chemists Shop, Gaerwen, made no plea when charged that, with others, he stole meat worth £31,815, the property of Silver Crest Foods, Dublin.

Mr Jones, who rents 16ha (40 acres) of land, was released on conditional bail after his solicitor applied for a three-week adjournment. He must not enter the port of Holyhead before the next hearing.
