Detectors have designs on theft

VIBRATION detectors for ATVs and smoke detectors for buildings join the protected items list of a radio-link security system.

These new detectors are add-ons to the Roadrunner RS8000 kit, which in its basic form comprises an infra-red sensor, high capacity rechargeable battery and a siren for standard intruder protection.

Because the kit uses radio links and is largely wireless, Roadrunner says it is mobile and easy to install. System prices start at about £300 (01452-503676).
