Distinctive change of style for new Hy-Reach

McCONNELS range of hedge and verge mowers is set to include a new model – the Power Arm 93 Hy-Reach. Described by the company as an upgrade of its existing PA 93 model, the Hy-Reach is claimed to benefit from a series of modifications.

Top of the list is a distinctive change of styling which incorporates a rear cover containing an integral rear lighting system.

The unit is available with either a semi-independent or totally independent hydraulic system complete with rotor rotation control.

An improved three-point linkage mounting system means there is closer coupling to the tractor, an arrangement which provides easier and safer conditions when mounting the machine on to a tractors linkage, says McConnel.

The Hy-Reach designation signals that the arms are now mounted to a new rocker pillar, but reach remains at 5m. Also new is the units 1.2m flail head – the Super-Multicut head which has a sliding mount, adjustable rear roller and rubber flap plus an adjustable front hood and wire trap. The flail head also has a new direct drive system which allows maximum power to be delivered to the flails.

For the operator, a choice of control systems offers progressive cable controls, multi-lever or mono lever electric controls, or the new armrest proportional controls.

Completing the specification is hydraulic safety breakaway with automatic reset, a compact transport position within the width of the operating tractor, and the option of a power slew ram.

Price of the PA93 Hy-Reach will be announced when it makes its debut appearance at Smithfield. &#42
