Dragon of a maize maze called Freddie

DENIS and Marion Bear have turned a field of maize at their farm into a maze and are charging the public £4 a head – to get lost.

It took five people a week to pluck the maize plants out of the 2.02ha (five acre) field at Tulleys Farm, Turners Hill, near Crawley, West Sussex, when they were six inches high, to form the maze in the shape of a dragon, called Freddie. The crop is now 6ft tall.

The maze will be open until the first week in September, after which time the maize will be cut and fed to farm animals. It is the largest in England.
