Durable plough parts
EARTH-WEARING parts on Kverneland ploughs are said to last 25% longer thanks a new heat treatment process which increases resilience to wear while stabilising the risk of cracking.
Applicable to mouldboards, shares, landslides and skimmers, costs savings are said to be about 29% less to re-metal a five-furrow plough depending on specification.
Key to the process is said to be the high amount of hardness while, at the same time, leaving areas around the bolt holes comparatively flexible to resist stress fractures. *
