Durhams historic pleasures

THE magnificent cathedral and castle towering over the city of Durham beckon you to the autumn FWC weekend.

Rooms at the luxurious Royal County Hotel have been reserved for three nights, Fri, Nov 14 to Sun, Nov 16. The hotel is situated on the banks of the River Wear and has a modern leisure club with heated indoor pool, spa bath, solarium, sauna and plunge pool as well as a new gymnasium.

For those who like walking, the riverside paths around the city are accessible from the hotel.

There is much to see in this historic city including the architectural museum, botanical gardens and oriental museum. A tour of the castle and a visit to the Bowes Museum are included in the cost of the weekend which is £175 a person and covers dinner, bed and breakfast for three nights.
