“ROAD TAX” for all farm loaders and lifters will be abolished ahead of the next Budget, the DVLA has announced.
The concession, announced by the Chancellor in his pre-budget statement last week, will take effect from 1 January, 2002.
It covers all vehicles designed for off-road use, used for lifting and loading for agriculture, horticulture and forestry.
Although farmers will not have to pay Vehicle Excise Duty on these vehicles, they must still license them and display a tax disc.
Farmers wishing to obtain a tax refund on the remainder of their license fee must surrender it before 30 December.
