Embryo auction by fax and internet

SEVENTEEN "embryo packages" of international Ayrshire genetics are being offered for sale by silent auction as part of the breeds world conference which is being staged in the UK.

The embryos, as well as 12 live animals from the UKs leading Ayrshire herds, will be sold during a breed society gala evening being held during Royal Show week at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warks. The silent auction invites buyers to make bids by phone, e-mail or fax to the breed society offices in Ayr or at its Royal Show pavilion during the show.

The opening bid for each lot is 100gns which will rise in multiples of 10gns as interested parties compete for the embryos up to 2pm on July 4. (Wright-Manley) &#42
