End for New York dairy futures

THE New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) futures exchange is to close its dairy futures and options market after seven years, reports the Financial Times.

The NYBOT said lack of liquidity was the principal reason for the decision which will be implemented progressively.

It has also faced competition from the larger futures exchange the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
