EXPRESS Dairies and Golden Vale are selling Dale Farm dairies, their Northern Ireland liquid milk business.

Farmers co-operative Dromona Quality Foods will purchase the dairy for 18.25million cash, according to the Financial Times.

Express will receive 80% of the amount, reflecting its majority share of the joint venture, said the paper.

In the year to March 2001, Dale Farm contributed pre-exceptional operating profits of 1.2m to Express, representing 10m of Expresss net assets.
