Farmer in BSE cash fraud
A FARMER who made false entries on government forms designed to protect the public from mad cow disease was ordered to do 240 hours community service.
Steven Glivear submitted false cattle control documents and on one occasion sent a cow for slaughter with an ear tag from an entirely different breed.
Stirling Sheriff Court was told Mr Glivear obtained more than £13,000 in beef subsidies by fraud.
Mr Glivear is managing partner in a family firm at Graystale Farm, Polmaise, and Walton Farm, Castlecary, near Denny, Stirlingshire.
