Farmers look to cow power
BRITAINS first power station fuelled by cow dung was given the green light yesterday.
The £7 million plant, to be built near Holsworthy, north Devon, will burn methane gas from farm slurry to produce electricity.
The European Union is backing the scheme to the tune of £3.5m.
Some 50 farmers are interested in joining the scheme, which will return treated slurry to them for use on their land.
