Feed supplement for piglet health

NEED to improve sow fertility and new-born piglet health? Try a feed supplement being launched by Harbro Farm Sales.

Total Care DH includes fish oils which increase hormone circulation to stimulate and luteinise follicles and increase egg numbers and quality, says the company.

It is also said to improve the immunity, and thus the health of new-born piglets and can fit into home-mixed diets or be used to top dress lactating sow feed.

Organic selenium and iron are included in the sow formulation, which are said to decrease pre-weaning mortality in piglets. It is available in 25kg packs. Based on sows eating 1.1t of the supplement/year and producing 23 pigs/year, it costs 40p/piglet produced (01888-568882, fax 01888563939).
